Our Dallas employment lawyers handle the following types of claims:
Employment Discrimination Claims
Employee discrimination is against the law. Federal and state laws prohibit age discrimination, sex discrimination, race discrimination, national origin discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination, and religious discrimination. Employees who have been wrongfully terminated, demoted, disciplined, or not hired for one of these reasons may have a legal claim. Also, it is unlawful in Texas to terminate an employee for filing a workers' compensation claim, or for refusing to commit an unlawful act.
Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Claims
Sexual harassment is against the law. An employer may not force an employee to work in a sexual hostile work environment. An employee who has been subjected to unwanted touching, sexual proposals, or comments or jokes may have a claim for sexual harassment.
Wage and Overtime Claims
The federal Fair Labor Standards Act requires employers to pay overtime to employees who work more than 40 hours per week. Sometimes, employers try to avoid this responsibility by classifying employees as "exempt" under the FLSA. However, employers frequently classify employees as exempt who should be paid overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. As a result, employers often wrongfully fail to pay overtime to employees who have earned it. Employers also commit other FLSA violations, such as failing to pay employees who work "off the clock."

Some Dallas employment lawyers represent only plaintiffs. Some represent only defendants. We represent both, and we believe that doing so helps us to see all sides of an issue. We have represented some of the largest companies in America. We have also represented hundreds of individuals.
When we represent individuals, we push as hard as we can, to get as much money for them as possible. When we represent companies, we try to get the best and most cost-effective resolution possible. Our clients receive big firm expertise with small firm personal attention and direct access to their lawyers. We are experienced and aggressive trial lawyers.
